Well are you paying for it? The Surface Pro 3 comes in MANY different spec lists and they go up to $2200 AUD....

I don't think your parents or you want to pay this much for a laptop when you already have a good one for school. I still don't understand why you need such a good laptop for school, I use a crumby HP laptop with an AMD A4-4000 and it's fine for everything that grade 7 throws at me.

I know that and in Denmark the mid range costs 2000USD but I saw the new LTT review the Asus g501 I have considered that. I know it is expensive but it is good and it's thin (good for school Work) i just wondered if there is some thing similer

i know but ihave just heard bad Things abut them

You can hear bad things about any company, no corporation can have a 0% failure rate when making millions of products.

Hell I have owned 2 Acer laptop's that failed when I was in junior high, but they got covered under warenty and that's what you get anyway when you skimp out and buy a 350$ laptop. And the only thing that was wrong with them was the Hitachi hard drives in them failed, probably helped by the fact that they were being carried around in a backpack all the time and at the time I didn't know that hard drives don't like bumps. But I don't care I would still buy any Acer laptop as long as it add good reviews and for the bill of what I wanted.

What applications do you need that will not work in RT...

There are apps for MANY MANY things these days. Be sure of the requirements before you buy otherwise you have a huge chance of buyers remorse.. (Either spent when you didn't need to or got slightly the wrong thing)

How is it safer to get something you might not even need. Listen to your dad he has been around a lot longer than you.

Edit-Also it sounds like your just using this opportunity to get your parents to buy you a expensive laptop in that case your being a asshole.

coding, programing, designing (gaming)

Coding and programming are light-weight.. Unless your doing 3d modelling or LARGER PS edits then a small spec is fine.

What you really need then is the i5 5100u 4GB of ram and 2 USB ports, like why the hell would you need 4 usb ports and a disk drive to program.
