Ok, so I want to go with some mayhems coolant for my next build, The entier build is a black and red themed build, so i want to go with either red tubing and clear coolant, or clear tubing and red coolant. I will be using 2 reservoirs so i figure that red coolant would be the best way to go, but I really dont wanna have anything gunk up in my loop. If i use colored coolant will it cause any bad effects? Should I just go with red tubing and clear coolant? It will be my first serious watercooling system, and I want it to be super easy. I dont want to use distilled water because I like how actual coolants have the additives already. Should I go with red  or clear coolant for this build?

Ive been running red mayhem coolant in my system for about a year and a half, and i've flushed it once to swap a graphics cards and it was fine. Distilled water is good, but you will also need to add a biocidal agent as well, and in some cases cooling can be slightly better with specifically engineered coolant over regular distilled water. If you're not leaving it in there for more than 3 years the coolant should be fine. I do recommend draining and flushing your loop every year or so though.

yeah thats what i figured. Qbviusly you have to maintain and clean your loop. So yeah, i think ill be going with Mayhems X1 Red coolant! Should look good when im done! Ill be spending upwards of 5 grand on this build, so hopefully everything goes well!

@Callum1243 Yes, those GPU cards that ive picked already have a waterblock installed on them from the factory. They are the Poseidon ROG cards. All i have to do is attach my own G1/4 fittings on them and hook up my loop. I dont need a serperate block because they come from the factory with watercooling already installed!

There's no gpu in the build ? And why aren't you going x99 if your going to spend that much ? The 4820k isn't that much more than the 4790k

go with major brands for the fluid if you want to use colored fluid ek mayhems primochill i think makes some good ones . and dont get shitty tubing that will mess your loop up faster then a color'd fluid will .

currently running ek ekoolance uv/blue for about 3 months and have no issues with it

The reason that I wont be going x99 is because I dont need X99. I would end up spending MOER if i went with the x99 platform. Plus, the motherboard I chose has the watercooling already integrated, and i l;ike that. Im not sure if i can get a x99 motherboard that has the watercooling already installed. Ill look into it, but chances are I will end up staying with z97

and yeah, the GPUs that I want to run arent in the PCPartPicker database, so i had to add them custom

Yeah Ill be using Mayhems coolant, alot of people really seem to like it. Ill also be using Primochill tubing. Its the tubung that Linus always uses, and it has some really good reviews

Oh, BTW I just realized that I could get a single Titan X and a waterblock for the same price that I could get the two 980s I was going to get. so yeah, i upgraded to a single Titan X. It may not be more powerful, but i REALLY dont wanna deal with SLI issues, and this is a perfect way for me to avoid SLI

Yeah, I would definitely recommend the Mayhem X1 Red coolant. I would trust getting it straight from them that way versus adding dye yourself to eliminate any issues that might cause in the long run. I also definitely agree with the GPU solution. With the Titan X being the newest card and performing just about where you'll want it, avoiding SLI when you can is the best way to go. When the drivers get better and Direct X 12 gets released, you can always get another Titan X later on and add it to the loop and you might be rolling decent FPS at 8K resolutions or something crazy haha!

Yeah, i find no reason to try to make SLI work righ tnow when the titan x is such a beast of a single card. Ill have no isses doing what I want to do with it, so i think its the best choice for me.
