Here is a pcpartpicker list to what I have right now

Ive got about $650 for an upgrade

This is what I came up with as an upgrade. I would like to keep the PSU, as the cables are black, I want a good looking system, as well as performance. What are the given downsides to using a card that was used for mining. Any suggestions?

thats not really an upgrade, you practically rebuilt the system with the excetion of hard drive and ram

That motherboard combo would rack up to $330+. Would that be worth it over the $170 combo, and then sacrificing GPU performance?

Didnt realise the difference would be that much, could get a newer locked i5 and cheap board and cooler maybe

But yeah, for the money the 2500k still seems like a good upgrade over the fx6300!!!

The EVGA NEX isn't a very good psu. The GS is much better. I would also suggest the Coolermaster Hyper Evo as a cheaper cooler. And as suggested above, you can get a brand new 290X for $279.99 after rebate.

Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 290X 4GB Tr-X OC Video Card  ($279.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $376.97
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
