Greetings everyone..  need secondary opinions on my purchase before I decide.

I was all for the 970.. but then I came across a 780 sc for the price of a 960...

Can't decide if its a good deal and to not pass it up its a factory refurbished evga 780..

the only downsides I have came across reading so far are...

               1. It will support direct x12 but not every feature...

               2. it runs about 11c hotter in most cases and all uses ~100 watts more under load

               3. it is factory refurbished vs a new 970 but factory refurbished should be fine..

               4. I would most likely get the evga ftw+ edition with the back plate or simply buy

the backplate seperate for $19.99 if I just get a SSC or SC.

pros: Almost identical 970 performance for ~$120+ cheaper..

Temps seem identical for some reason even though 970 is much more efficient.

More cuda cores.. although I am only gaming on this machine..

What does everyone think.. I do believe the 970 is better.. but is it ~$120+ better?

Get the 780.  You'd be stupid not to.

Considering the cheapest refurbished 780 I could find was $289.99, I think it's still a good deal. Go for it :)

I also should mention my power supply is 500W corsair cx500m.. while most people say the 780 can run fine on it...

system:

i5-4690k

evga z97 ftw mobo

5 fans

2 ssd + 1 hdd

 will that be an issue?..
