Damn witcher 3!

it made me feel like i needed to overclock my graphics card :(

 

so far i'm sitting at 1516mhz and still can't keep it locked to 60 fps with nvidia hairworks on lol. at least it only drops to 50 now. still I was hoping to get a few more months out of not needing to oc the gpu.

My rig:
CPU: i5 4690k 24/7 @4.4ghz (1.165v) Max 4.7ghz (1.325v) COOLER: NZXT Kraken X61 MOBO: Asus Z97-A   RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical   GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SSC   PSU: EVGA GS 650W   CASE: NZXT Phantom 530 HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB + WD Black 2TB

MOAR OVERCLOCK!!!! ALL THE FRAMES!!! Overclocking usually isn't a bad thing, I have mine overclocked as far as Afterburner will let me drag the sliders :P

lol i know it isn't a bad thing, and honestly considering witcher 2 i should have expected this but damn, I didn't think i'd need to overclock my 970 for 1080p 60 fps so soon lol

 

but damn  is it ever gorgeous.

Well now i know how mines gonna run xD i had to redownload the game cause gog galaxy beta screwed me in the butt

 

beta is beta :P

 

just a heads up, the game runs great at stock so long as hairworks is disabled. if you want it enabled, you'll have to push the overclock :P

honestly, probably not that much worse. even when dropping texture quality, it didn't have much effect on the frame rate with nvidia hairworks enabled. i may have to test this... hmmm...

 

edit:

 

well.... a quick test at 1440p shows about 40ish fps... up to high 40s.... 

 

Edit 2:

 

disabling hairworks brought me up to a 45-55ish range with my overclock at 1440p
