Hackintoshing a windows machine

So I've got a PC doing nothing right now, and I've always wanted to try out OS X, it's always seemed appealing but I never wanted to lose any important files from my main rig, but I have a rig with some pretty ok specs right now that I'm not worried about any files on it. The only problem is that It's an AMD build, and I've heard it's harder to do an AMD build but still possible, so I need a kind of guide or something to help me figure out how to do this and what to do, since I'm new to hackintoshing. Specs are as follows:

AMD A8 5600K

F2-A75M-D3H Gigabyte Mobo

8gb of ram

500gb HDD

I'm gonna continue this thread over at InsanelyMac so I don't need to reply to 2 different threads and I've also decided to try and get it running on an HP Pavilion DV6 with a first gen i3 processor since it will be much easier than getting an AMD kernel working. Link to the thread

If you want to hackintosh an intel cpu is pretty much necessary as well as a very small subset of graphics cards, definitely not an apu.

If you want to use an AMD cpu I think you need to use OSIX or something

I've got an old EVGA GTX 550ti that I can put in the system does that help? From what I'm seeing on forums the main issue seems like it's the graphics part of the APU thats having trouble.

You will need to use a modified iso with a kernel that supports amd hardware. This is technically not legal, so you will have to use google to find more info.

Yeah AMD has always required custom kernels(i've spend time in hackintosh forums). Put simply you will either need to run a premodified distribution which i wont link you too directly, or putting modified files to support amd hardware in the custom installer. Go insanelymac.com/forums is highly recomended if you want to run hackintosh as they are very good at what they do.

Hi guys could u help me a bit here ? Im wondering linus built a pc a few times now does he have unlimited supply of OS that he can use asap? Cause i research that u cant copy one product key to another computer so how do he manage to give a copy of windows to the 20+ pc he built in his channel ?

Its ok, but your case you should probably ask on the forums directly in the appropriate place, and specify your pc specs as you need a special drivers and kernel and that guide isnt listing it. they are the ones would know best if your hardware works and how

Alright thanks, the problem is I cant get a OS X VM running, and dont have access to a mac at all. Which means this is even harder and I'm trying to get it to run on an AMD build. Do you by chance know what it means when I get a black screen when I boot to my clover tools or my OS X image? It looks like a terminal almost.

Im going to say its missing drivers or necessary optimizations to run and you need an appropriately patched installer. You probably have bits you need missing

Any idea where I can get these missing bits or get a better installer? The problem is I can't get OS X running in a VM and that I dont have access to a mac. Don't get me wrong, I love Linux and all but I need this computer in some sort of working order, so it needs to have an OS that is supported commonly for gaming, which would be Windows, but since I don't want to run windows, the second best would be OS X, plus I've never actually used OS X before so I'd really like to experience it and try to use it as a daily driver on another machine.

If a game is on OS X, it will be on linux 99% of the time...

Like I said before. If you really want OS X go and ask at insanely Mac forum's osx86 section. Those guys know OS X like the back of their hands. Might even pay the thread a visit if I'm bored. People here mostly aren't hackintosh experts

I do see your view but the amount of work to make a Hackintosh is simply to much not to mention it is kinda not legal?

I don't know if the modified kernel is illegal... but the pre-made OSX distribution with it included is since it also includes a pirated copy of OSX.

I'm pretty sure the only legal way to do hackintosh is the Tony Mac's UniBeast... but I could be wrong.

No access to a mac so Tonymac's tools and any tools that don't work for windows are a no go. Plus I've given up on the AMD hackintosh, and I've got an old HP Pavilion with a first gen i3, but I'm having some issues if you're interested here
