I was playing around with a few Linux distros on my netbook when I suddenly couldn't install a new distro (last one installed was Ubuntu 14.04). So I decided to just connect it to my desktop PC (running Windows 8.1) and format it but now I have a ~1GB big part on the SSD that's "unallocated". How do I make one single partition?

It's volume I:

Right click on the other partition and click resize and drag the slider over. Apply the changes.

This option is greyed out :-/ Any other suggestions?

Plus, when I right-lick on the unallocated space and click on "create" I get this warning -> http://i.imgur.com/Rej6P9C.jpg

reformat and partition again?

Discmanagement in Windows only lets me format the first part. I can't do anything with the unallocated part.

Just booted into Gparted on my netbook via USB  and the SSD plugged in via SATA. The unallocated part shows up as "extended". Rightclicking "extended" lets me choose from "new" and "inforomation".

You mean for overprovisioning? Then why can't I interact with it? (i.e. change size)

that's what i was thinking , and you cant interact with it because the ssd needs that space for its cache and what not. most ssds never give you the advertised space anyways.

that's what i think at least

I have to correct myself: I can interact with it in terms of creating partitions in that space but not merge the unallocated space with the already existing partition.
