Use flash drive as normal drive win7

I wanted to use an sd card in my laptop to save all my C: storage such as downloads, documents, music and photos but windows 7 tells me that a removable storage media cannot be used and it must be a drive partition, can I alter my pc to view the sd card as a drive rather than as removable storage device ?
