Vandal switch wiring issues

Go to solution Solved by Awkward Turtle,

The issue seems to be resolved, it was a dodgy connection with the front panel connectors on the Mobo. I'm going to solder the connections on to it to fix this to prevent it happening again. It wasn't the graphics cards

Cheers for the help mate!

got this switch from Parvum and I think I wired it wrong as the pc ain't booting up. All the other components work as I've used them all before it's just a new case. Anyone know how to wire this up?

This might help, the red dot should indicate the positive side:

That ain't working. I've tried literally every combination

The front panel connectors on the motherboard seem fine as well. I haven't a clue what's going on.

Just as a test and troubleshoot try connecting a 3V watch battery to see which set of contacts light up the LED's it should be very dim once you find that the two other pins for the power switch don't have a specific orientation.

Unable to do that mate, any other suggestions?

Found this it might help a bit (@1:18):

Also I noticed this for the power LED you may need to modify it slightly like they did here:

Yea already seen that. I think it has to be a faulty switch, is there anyway to start the pc without using the switch? Just to see if that is the issue.

Just short circuit or bridge the two pins power pins temporarily and the system will turn on. Once it starts stop bridging it.

ive got one of those parvum cases that comes with a vandal switch, and i had a similar problem with wiring the switch, so i just wiggled the connectors a little, bending them a tiny bit, it worked for me

It's acting really weird, it's not Shorting.

Used different things and nothing works. Also tried using a different power supply.

Hmm double check all the connections are correctly installed and firmly locking into place.

What motherboard are you using?

Do you think it's worth taking the internals out of the case and test the bare essentials?

If I do I'm gonna have to drain the entire hardline w/c loop though :(

Oh it's an entire loop. I'd give it a go with just a bare essentials and see if it would post first, also just to make sure you are bridging the correct pins. Is the system doing anything at all once your bridge the pins or is it just as if nothing happened?

It can be done with a small metal screw driver just to make an electrical connection:

Bridging the pins does nothing at all. Probably just gonna drain it and test the system outside of the case

One thing is curious though, my graphics cards seem to be seated properly in the PCI-E slots ok but from the outside the brackets look like they are bent inwards? Apparently some Parvum users experienced this before. Is this an issue?

Not sure if you can see it or not but the top card just looks outta line with the other
