DSR Issues

Go to solution Solved by Glenwing,

Should I set the scaling to happen on my gpu instead of my display?

Yes, and override the scaling mode of games.

I would say the most likely way to solve it though is by going into the TV's settings and looking for Scan Settings, and set it to Just Scan if you can.

So I used to play on a 1080p monitor and downsample from 1440p/4k depending on the game I was playing. However, I was recently robbed, and now I'm stuck with this crappy 1360x768 tv. It claims that it supports 1080p, but really all it does is stretch the pixels and it looks nasty, the pixels are all weird and stuff, so I assume that 1080p is not it's native resolution. When I set my display to 1080p it doesnt even fit the screen, just kinda hangs off the side. Well, at 768 I get tons of frames, but my games dont exactly look as good as I would like. So, I tried to downsample from 1440p to 768, and it automatically switched my tv's display to 1080p, and it looked absolutely disgusting. Does anyone know how i can prevent this from being an issue? I would like to downsample to my native resolution if possible.

Well if its a 1360x768 tv. then it's not going to support 1080p :/ (Or at least look decent at 1080p)

You'd be best off setting the resolution to 1360x768 until you can get a decent 1080p monitor.

I didnt know what the resolution was until I plugged it up and started fiddling around with the settings.

It will support 1080p sorta(fit the screen), I get where you're coming from, just set your TV's picture aspect ratio to "just scan" if it has it and it all should work.

Like what was said above, it doesn't really support 1080p if the physical resolution is lower than that. It would need some sort of scaler to bring it down to the native resolution of the panel(either through an external device like a PC or console or an internal scaler).
