My friend's dad wants to get a server build so he can host servers like websites, games, etc.

He want's it to be around 700-900 dollars. He isn't really sure on how much yet.

I know he wants a lot of ram since he made my friend get like 16 gigs when he begged for only 8 since hes gaming lol.

I live in the US, he only needs the tower. I'm not really experienced on what parts to use for servers so I'm asking this forum.

Since it will be on 24/7 or should be since it is a server I got the WD red and a 80+ platinum psu. Case does not need to be too fancy. I got the 2x8 16gb kit so if he wants 32 he can just add more dimms. 16 should be fine. SSD for the boot drive cant hurt. I7 for the multi thread apps if he needs them. If not i5 4460 should work well. Stock cooler can be loud so I threw in a 212 evo. He can pick any cooler.

anything else? and @TheGeeker , love the part list, but is the ecc compatible with the mobo and stuff? and the ssd is pretty much the worst ssd lol

ok. I beleive the Z97 a can take ecc. CHeck me not sure. just searched newegg for ecc mobos. it came up. so? the ssd is faster than a hdd. its a budget ssd. just needs to outperform an hdd.
