i need help picking graphics card please

i am a student and i am working with animation, blender, maya, after effects, ect. i am unsure of which graphics card will do the best for my money. i only have max $2000 nzd to spend on the whole thing, can anyone more experienced in this area please help me

Maybe a NVIDIA Quadro will work for you?

if you're using Blender and you have the choice between gtx 970 and gtx 980, the 980 isn't that much faster in rendering than the 970 (tested on two friends, one has the 970, one has the 980). They are both a bit slower than the 780 (another friend has an EVGA 780). All three tested the same animation scene.
