Witcher 2 micro-stutters

So I restarted playing The Witcher 2 enhanced edition again, but my gpu usage keeps dropping in game causing stutter, I was wondering if anyone has an idea why I am using a FX8350 with 16 gig of ram. Also I have tried some tweaks  in the Nvidia control panel to no avail.

Check your power settings -> High Performance . 

Also what settings are you running on. My Single GTX 980 Does Ultra(Ubersampling Off) at 2560x1440p.

Does it for me too, but only after playing it for a while. I just exit and reopen it again and it goes away.

Same with shadows set to low and all antiailasing off.

Turn down every detail and see if it still stutters... If it stops start turning the heat up and see what is causing the sttutering. I am running at 4K with everything max (no ubersampling) at butter smooth 60 FPS on two 970s.

My issue is that my Gpu usage goes to zero or close to it in game. Can you guys see my Afterburner pic?

 When the GPU usage drops it's possible that your GPU is downclocking back to power saving mode thereby causing stutter. You should be able to confirm that too in Aferburner of GPU-Z.

 

If that's the case it looks like an Nvidia driver bug. Try turning on ubersampling to increase the GPU load and see if you can prevent the downclocking. Ubersampling at 1080p max settings works smoothly on my R9 290 which means your 970 is powerful enough to handle it.

When I had a 970 I could play at maxed, no Ubersampling at 60fps locked. Is your CPU usage hitting 100% at all? Try using older drivers from February perhaps, they worked for me!
