i5 4690K would probably do for you, unless you foresee a heavier workload in the future in which case an i7 4790K would be best.

24 fps for that "cinematic" feel

After a couple weeks of behavioral sciences at my school I can easily conclude my parents need to grow up.

Well you can go with Xeon E3-1231v3 instead of both (if you don't overclock), it's good for both gaming and editing.

If you choose 1231v3 I'd suggest H97 motherboard instead because the CPU is locked.

If you want to overclock, stay with that.

I'd recommend i5-4690K or i7-4790K.

^ your best option. i7 are good if your doing more rendering and stuff but for me if I was doing rendering I'd switch to x99.

Buy a less expensive case.  Phanteks Enthoo Pro for $100 is a much better alternative to the Thermaltake one, and it gives you more money to work with.  Also drop down to a less expensive motherboard.  You can easily find red/black MSI motherboards for $120-$150 that come with pretty much the same features.

Buy an i7-4790k, and if you have money left over, buy a nicer PSU.

Also consider a different CPU cooler.

Other than that, great looking build.

There is nothing wrong with the CX600M, I owned one for awhile. It's excellent price and functionality make it a fantastic buy that you can't go wrong with. Sometimes there are other higher efficiency PSUs for the same or slightly higher price.
