Didn't know what topic so just put it in General. I'll end up getting some corsair quite edition fans (2-pack) to get airflow to the Ps4 that keeps overheating in the TV Stand. How could I power these? Like plug something into a USB slot on the Ps4 then plug the fans in? Or is there another solution to cooling the Ps4? This is about the best I could think of as when it over heats it sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

You would need something like a USB to 3-4pin fan header converter.  Quick search on Google shows me this

Probably cheaper on Amazon if available at all.

I'm sure you'll have a 12v power brick adapter thingy lying around, For example, I have one sitting next to me for an old amp.

Lop off the end of the fan cable and lop off the end of the power adapter and then splice the positive on the adapter to the yellow wire (which on a 3 pin fan in usually the one in the middle) and the ground to the ground (which is pin 1) and you're sorted. DIY is king in this world.

To be super fancy, grab a 100 Ω variable resistor and throw that in the mix.

btw, I have a box of about 100 of them and am quite happy to give them away for free if anyone's interested, just you're paying shipping

I actually did this to make a getto fume extractor for when I am soldering. I actually took the fan out of an old HP that actually had an enclosure that was like cowling so I just put it back in there and now after sanding it and getting rid of the yellow color, it doesn't look to bad. I actually cut myself on it before I put the grill back on :P

Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!”

USB isn't enough for 12V powering. You should be looking to get DC power cable instead. Something like this http://www.moddiy.com/products/DC5.5x2.1mm-Power-to-3%252dPin-Fan-Adapter-Cable-%2820cm%29.html

I've never seen one of those. Were would I plug the DC part into?

The other end of cable uses same type of plug that things like speakers use. You can buy adapter with several plugs from any store selling electronic stuff.

I would get a cheap fan controller for 10 bucks that uses a molex connection for power... most of these can power like 8 fans or something along those lines, then get a molex to external power. Might be overkill but super easy to setup no wire cutting and if you need more fans can just order one and plug it in.

something like this for power

https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=23914

but you can find them as cheap as 10 bucks, just a example.

$5 fan controller, again just a example.

Also you could dump the Controller and run a 4x Molex to 3 pin cord. but I prefer the controller for neatness and only needing one.

edit: a cheap molex converter on newegg for 13 bucks
