Windows 7 or 8.1?

7. Then upgrade to 10 when its out and completely stable . If you get 8.1 you will do the same thing

What Windows os is better for gaming drivers related ect?

Gaming performance is slightly better on Windows 8.1 then 7 but it's a negligible difference especially if you have a good GPU. 

 

If you have a regular HDD, get Windows 8.1, it's much faster to boot and feels snappier to use. With an SSD, just get whichever you like the look of better. 

 

Both will get free upgrades to Windows 10 anyways.

Those who are sane: "Windows 8"

 

Yeah, Windows 8 is better and there's a ~5fps improvement because it's mildly lighter as an OS.

True, but it does remove a significant amount of features and makes getting to things a bit more difficult. The overall design is also quite different though and many people do not like it
