NVME drives

Go to solution Solved by Str_Mape,

It's faster than two 850 Pro's in AID 0, see Linus' latest Vessel video if you have early access, if not there are several other sauces that can verify this such as Anandtech

Samsung is releasing a new m.2 drive with NVME soonish that may be faster so I'd wait to see how that pans out.

Is it just more or the nvme slot a borderline waste of time at the moment due to serious lack of nvme drives actually being put in pcs outside of laptops. Infact i barely sata express ssds being deployed...

Is this a porly constructed answer or a question?

i was hoping to be disproven...i find it slighltly depressing not seeing those two drive standards used after being heavily flogged...

NVMe is a protocol, it's not related to the slot but the main thing holding NVMe back was the lack of support on the motherboard side. Luckily Intel pushed all the mobo makers to finally push out BIOS updates for it so hopefully we'll see more NVMe drives this year.
