Hi, so I just built my first system with a GTX 970, and when I finished everything and booted up Windows, my desktop had tiny red dots flickering in the upper left of the screen. When I unplugged my DVI cables and plugged them back in the monitor it seemed to stop the problem. I was just wondering if this was because I inserted the GPU in wrong? Or was it an issue with how the wire was plugged into the monitor?

I've had this issue with my GTX 260 before. It's just a poor placement of the video cable (HDMI, DVI, etc.)

Just unplug and reinsert the cord and you should be fine.

Bit of an AMD fan I suppose. I don't bias my replies to anything however, I just prefer AMD and their products. Buy whatever the H*CK you want.

The answer becomes clear:

I experienced a similar problem with my monitor. I came to the conclusion that since I could not screw in my DVI cable, the looseness of the cord caused the red dots and green flickering.

i'm guessing thats just iffy display cables, having a bit of noise.
