PCIe slot problems?

Hi guys, I have had issues with the graphics on my pc (specs in sig) where things around the desktop where stuttering and jumping etc... and audio was also breaking up. After trying everything imaganable, I thought it must be one of my 660ti's but the problems goes when I only use the bottom 8X slot for either card (so both cards are good) and both bring the issue back when installed in the top 16x slot. 

 

I have thoroughly cleaned the slot without any luck and I have also tried the standard things, such as clearing CMOS etc... 

 

I really am stuck and some guidance from here would be greatly appreciated!

*this error shows up every time I get a stutter or jump that seems to be brought on by making the GPU work at all, such as when I open a new window with an animation or video playback etc...*

Was one of those standard things using the Nvidia driver un-installer and then reinstalling the drivers?

I hate to say I think you may be right - would my board still be under warranty with asus? I brought it in May 2013...

You'd have to check with them. It depends on the model and everything.

You'd need to check with Asus to see if it is. If not then its an example of something made to break after the warranty is expired.

You could try registering your motherboard with them first-I did that when my H87M-Pro was being a POS.
