Laptop doesn't start anymore

Go to solution Solved by SuperJeRoT,

it's an msi M670

I really need to fix it but I have no idea how,

when I press the start button, then that button gives light

but nothing else happens, the hdd doesnt start, bios doesn't start, nothing runs when pressing power.

Anybody else has any idea's how I can fix it?

It's probably dead. Changing a motherboard could fix it, maybe not though.

The best thing you can do is to just take it to some pc shop and ask them or give it for repair. It's not gonna fix it self sadly

Hello,
I have some problems with my laptop, yesterday it was booting fine but now when I press the power button the only think I get is that the power button lights up, but nothing else happens.

I hear no sounds, the hdd isn't spinning, the cpu cooler isn't spinning either.

Someone knows what's wrong? xs

Could be bad ram or bad motherboard, try reseating the ram and if possible with one stick.

Probably a dead motherboard. But try to take out the hdd and power up the lap top, it should go into bios. Restart to defaults, turn it off, put the hdd back in and try to power it back on again. My friend had a similar isue and we did that and it worked. Try the ram thing also.

the bios doesn't even load, I will try to do that with the ram and hope that will work, I will try that when I get back home

doing that with the ram didn't work either :/

Reset the cmos, and see if it boots, if not, bad motherboard.

Also, make sure you boot with it plugged in. The battery might be bad, which would cause the light, but no boot.

how do I reset the cmos?

Inside the laptop, there is a silver battery. Remove it, and after 5 min, replace it back into the baord, and reboot.

but the bios doesn't even start right now, do you think that will solve the problem?

and what if I can't find the battery? xs (I still have 1,5 hours to go before I get home so I can test it)

If there isnt a battery, that isnt a PC. You will find it. It will either be connected via 2 pin, or striaght onto the board.

And if you connect the charger, and keep it charging while npbooting, this would eliminate the battery causing issues.

Do I have to remove that little battery with the main laptop batery and charger connected?

Yeah, the battery holds the bios config and clock time of the PC, disconnect all power for 5 min, reconnect everything, and reboot.
