i was wondering if this hardware will be good enough to run a minecraft server?

and how many people will be able to be online at the same time? :)

it should also host a web server + nas box + printerservice and some smaller tasks

OS = linux ubunto server

server specs:

Lian li pc-v354

G1.sniper m3

Intel core i3 3225

Coolermaster Geminii S

Kingston hyperx lovo 16 gb 4x4

Intel 330 60gb

5x Hitachi Ultrastar 7K4000 (raid 5, for personal storage)

adaptec 7805

1x wd black (for minecraft)

3x nanoxia fx evo 120 ifc 1000rpm

1x nanoxia fx evo 140 ifc 1000rpm

1x nanoxia fx evo 120 pwm 1500rpm (for the cpu cooler)

ps. internet speed is 20/20 mbit

also is the cpu overkill?

your ram is good for the job,the i3 will do well for the server

your internet is great and lastly you do NOT need 1tb for the server, reserve like 10gb max and if u really go crazy and want 100 people at a time 20 gb

cpu: 3570k cooler: H100i m/b: Asus Maximus V Formula ram: 16gb Corsair Vengeance gpu: Asus Nvidia GTX 680 DCUII ssd: Samsung 840 pro hdd: WD Black 2tb case: CMStorm Stryker psu:  Corsair AX860

Is this hosting for you and your friends or is it for an actual community?
My concern - as someone who has run huge MC communities is that your internet connection may not be sufficient. While yes the hardware is sufficient, you will no doubt endure lag with more than 4 or so people online.
