Okay so here's what happened. I was getting pretty good download speed for what i'm paying 4.8mb/s paying for 5 (That's most I can get in my area). My ping wasn't all that great and I thought "Hey my modem is in my basement so If I move it upstairs by the router, I might get a faster response time". Well, I tried that and my speeds were at 1.4mb/s and ping even worse. I decided I would move it back to where it was originally was and now I'm only getting 0.70 mb/s and yet even WORSE ping. I went into 192.168.0.1, and where it originally said I was getting 4980kb download it now says I'm getting 1024. Before you ask, yes I've tried resetting it, tried it on a different device, scanned for viruses, tried it in a different area, hooked it up to a wired connection. It all yields the same result, just not nearly as good as it was before.

Don't feed the trolls. LOL.

You might need to power cycle the router/modem. Then make sure you don't have updates going on automatically to make that download speed drop. Sometimes when it drops it can be ISP related.  If you power cycle and know you have things turned off from updating then call your ISP.

Thanks I guess I'm gonna have to call my ISP tomorrow and see what they can do.

-snip-

That IP isn't public IP. You have to literally connect to his home network then that ip address would be useful (kind of).
