Samsung Galaxy Folder Flip Phone

Coombzy

Samsung have brought back the flip phone design for south korean markets for the high end. The phone will ship with a WXVGA screen [no word on size] a snapdragon S4 and will have LTE and run android 4.2.2. What do you guys think do they really need to release a flip phone in the age of full on touchscreens? my personal thought Go home Samsung your drunk :3

That is quite interesting. I personally don't see a good usage scenario for this in my life but I'm sure there's scenarios out there for someone else

Personally I like flip phones, since I didn't have to bother with screen protectors and whatnot (and usually didn't have to bother with cases either since the phones were usually cheaper anyway xD) But since this one appears to have a full body screen on the outside that perk doesn't apply.  Still, I like the style.

Also not everyone needs smartphones.  My mother for example.  AFAIK Samsung et. al. never stopped making flip phones and other basic phones.  They just didn't make any really high end ones (until now).

I used to go to Japan every summer and I saw flip phones everywhere. I don't see a use for the physical buttons with a fully functioning touchscreen, but I'm thinking the Asian market still loves flip phones for their "style."

I prefer flip phones, I hate touch screen nonsense and smart phones, I have no use for any of it (I'm 22) I only carry a phone incase someone needs to contact me (parents).

Great for people who still want the smartphone experience and they want to have a physical T9 keyboard.
