My first build

I'm new to Building pcs. I've done some reading here and there. I've watched some videos there and here. So this is what I've come up with. Feel free to reccomand other parts if you feel should be changed.My budget is between 1200-1800 U.S.

CPU- Intel I5-4690k

Mobo- MSI Z97 Mpower

GPU- MSI Radeon R9 290x Lighting

Memory- corsair vengeance 16GB (2x8GB)

Storage- seagate Barracuda 1TB, Kingston V300 series 240GB SSD

Case- Corsair 760T

PSU- Corsair RM 650W 80+ Gold

OS- Windows 8.1

CPU Cooler- corsair H80i

With this Build I'm hoping to be able to OC. That's why I went with that Mobo. I heard it's easy to OC with. I chose most of these parts to try and keep it black and yellow. The r9 290x lighting looks amazing and from what I've seen performes good too. I'm hoping the PSU I chose is enough to be able to handle some OC and be enough for the whole build. Leave suggestion. Kingston V300 is pretty meh, get Samsung or Crucial SSD.

That's good. What do you plan on doing with your PC? You may not need that much RAM.

I'm just gonna use it for gaming. I forgot to mention that. I want to be able to run most games coming out this year at a good stable fps.

I wouldn't buy that V300 SSD, try to find another drive in your budget.

8 gigs is plenty of ram, but if you buy 16 then you'll be set for a good while.

Instead of the v300 of gone with the Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD.

Heres a build thats CHEAPER and BETTER.

 

And contains a 75hz freesync IPS monitor with a working freesync loop... making your gaming lightyears better than the sickest system would on a small, crappy 60hz TN.
