Army command game?

Hey guys,

 

I'm looking for a gome that let's me build and command my very own army. Something like Age of Empires, but more of a World War 2 or modern setting.

 

Any of you have suggestions?

My fav strategy game is Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy . It's old but gold . It's modern sci-fi era.

Wargame red dragon. Type RTS in steam or youtube youll get a list or a top 10. Check those out.

No, no no no no no.

SC2 got ruined by the paper, rock, scissors method placed on the air land and sea units and the harder level AI cheats due to that, original SC or total annihilation are the only ones you should play.

supcom fa is great, i agree 2 is only so so at best. Also there is supreme commander faf they have mp server's still!

I am not certain what scale you are looking for, but if you want to go big there is only really one WWII game: Hearts of Iron III.

This is a strategic game where the brigade is the lowest level you can directly command. You will not only build and design your own divisions, but command army groups of several hundred thousand men and material. Air, land and sea warfare are all covered and you can pretty much do what you want. Complete Operation Barbarossa as the Wehrmacht? Sure. Perhaps win the battle of Midway and crush the US Pacific navy? Done.

It does have a fairly steep learning curve, but there are ample tutorials and AAR on both the paradox forums and Youtube.
