Windows 10 upgrade permanent?

Hey,

 

If I buy a retail copy of Windows 8.1, install it on my system, and then get the free upgrade to Windows 10 in that first year, will that Windows 10 be registered to my old retail Windows 8.1 license, so I can then install Windows 10 on my PCs even after the first free year has finished?

 

What I'm trying to say is: When I upgrade to Windows 10, will it only upgrade the PC that I click upgrade on, or will that upgrade my Windows 8.1 licence to a Windows 10 one (that can be installed for years to come on other PCs)?

It will upgrade the license. I upgraded from 7 to 8 and used that key many times to reinstall (2 times).

It will upgrade the license. I upgraded from 7 to 8 and used that key many times to reinstall (2 times).

That's great - so I don't have to wait for Windows 10 to come out, I can just buy a windows 8.1 licence for the new pc i'm building, upgrade to Windows 10, and if I build another system, I can use that to install Windows 10.
