1. Enter bios

2. Find CPU multiplier (probably two digits representing 0.0 ghz)

3. Change to overclock

4. test

As far as I have found you can overclock an Ivy Bridge (3xxx) by changing the multiplier but cannot overclock a Sandy Bridge beyond its Max turbo clock.

Also there is likely no voltage adjustments which are downright essential.

Check your BIOS and see what options you have.

*Edit. Cause I'm a little OCD I went and checked your manual for you and we can all eat our own posts. Your H77 board has full overclocking functions including voltage adjustments. There is a whole section dedicated to it in your BIOS.

Adjust your CPU Ratio multiplier first, bump it a couple points up.

As for voltage you should be able to hit 4.5GHz at 1.3v as that seems to be the norm for most.

Also you can use what's called Load Line Calibration to help keep your voltage levels stable. It should have several steps from lowest to highest. Start low and work your way up if you have stability issues.

Run Prime95, AIDA64 or Intel Burn test for at least a half hour to verify stability.

I'd be careful. A TX3 evo...

You'd want to upgrade to at least a 212 Evo.

bro I overclocked a g3258 to 4.4 on stock cooler;  TX3 is fine...

For a 2700k?

The G3258 overclocked uses less power than an i5 at stock speeds....

A 2700k will put out a considerable amount of heat?

not that much

all depends on how high the cpu was binned

Yeah, a TX3 should be enough to handle a 2700K at even a moderate OC. I've got one keeping a lid on an OC'd Phenom II right now, they work quite well.

Honestly it's been a while for me since I used a Sandy Bridge, but I remember my 2500K wasn't a particularly good overclocker but it never got too hot for a CM V6 to handle.

Also I'm really impressed with that AsRock H77 he's got. You should see the feature set in the BIOS. It's downright fancy.
