Whenever there is a sound playing i can hear a slight humming sound in the back. Is it something wrong with the drivers or is it a defective headset. Please help. I have them pluged via USB sound card that came along with it.

Motherboard: ROG Maximus V Gene

UPDATE:

I have tried it on my phone and i don't hear the humming on it. There isn't much of a differnece in humming on pc while connected via USB sound card or 3.5 jack.

I have also tried my older headset (5 years old Gamescom platronics) and didn't  hear the humming As much (actually it cancelled the humming quite a lot)  but it was still present.

UPDATE 2:

I have tested them in SWTOR and it seems that the humming sound is originating from the USB sound card since there is no humming while they were pluged in via 3.5 jack while playing. WTF is going on?!

try them on another device first where you know you don't have the problem with other headphones, like your smartphone. Also, try other headphones on this device and see if they have the same problem. This way you can see if it's the headphones' problem or the device you are using them on.

Do you have the problem when using onboard audio?

In Windows lower the microphone levels to zero. In recording devices
