SLI Question

I've been reading a few threads on graphics cards and I have a question. A lot of threads mention SLI 970s are the better bang for buck against a single 980, but only in games that support it. So can you guys name some games that don't support SLI or offer poor support? It seems odd that any game made these days wouldn't account for SLI or Crossfire. I'd mostly be interested in RPGs, modded Skyrim, the Witcher series, and the Mass Effect series.

Sometimes they support SLI, but you get some weird bugs like stuttering too.
