Microphone does not work! Help!

Hey guys, so when I plug in a microphone of mine in my PC, (I tried every microphone port, front I/O and motherboard I/O) the microphone does not work.

I tried it with the in ear apple earpods, and another headset which worked on my friends pc.

So if I boost everything up, all microphone boosts, I only see a signal in the Windows Settings when I tap the microphone.

If I yell very very very loudly inside the microphone (my neighbour woke up) there is a tiny tiny signal coming in.

What's wrong?

Did I plug ir into the wrong port?

Help!

Go into controlPanel>devices>sound (may not be the exact path, cant fully remember) and then just configure the microphone sensitivity, and make sure it is selecting the right thing.

Check the port, if you're sure that you plug it to the right port then...

Go into controlPanel>devices>sound (may not be the exact path, cant fully remember) and then just configure the microphone sensitivity, and make sure it is selecting the right thing.

That's exactly how I did it, configured it and nothing happened.
