Posted May 6, 2015 So, I've been planning for some time to upgrade my rig due to my GTX 970 bottlenecks and issues, and I've looked over to Intel for this one. So far, I've chosen these two items: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646i54690k http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-h97pro4 I'm a game programmer, 3D Modeler, gamer, and I want to create videos in the future. The problem with this is that my A10-6790K struggles to handle workloads such as creating videos and gaming and it's SEVERLY bottlenecking my GPU. I estimate it is working at 2/5 to 1/2 of the speed right now, due to technical difficulties and bottlenecks. I don't plan to create very intensive videos, just 1080p footage of games like planetside at medium-high settings. Nothing 4k Thanks, -Shadow Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/361194-upgrading-my-rig/ Share on other sites
 Posted May 6, 2015 I would spend some extra change to get 4670k because it allow headroom to overclcock. Magical Pineapples
