Boot with an SSD?

Go to solution Solved by LiamApex,

Hello world of Linus tech tips forum, i have a question; is it possible to boot off of an ssd and then have everthing els on a hard drive? What i think all i will put on it is the system reserved and boot stuff like that and the rest on the hard drive. What im wondering is that if its possible to have just boot on the system in the ssd and then have everything els work from the hard drive?

Lastly, how do you do it? I have everything on my hard drive now, should i just put windows 8 on the ssd? I dont know...

thanks :)

Yes, you can do it, and you should do it.

I've done it and it's a truly great thing. 10-15 second startup times are incredible, and I've only got a semi crappy SSD in my rig atm. :P
