Smallest ATX case?

Go to solution Solved by mr moose,

check out the silverstone range of HTPC cases.  They have some very stylish ATX gear.

So I've been looking around at cases to build a system in, and it needs to be as compact as possible while still fitting a full-size GPU. Motherboard form factor is ATX, the inclusion of a PSU is not necessary but would be nice, and I would like to spend under $75.

If you havent gotten your motherboard yet, just go for a mATX. You can get something that looks good and is smaller like the air 240, pandora, sg09/sg10

G3258 @ 4.5 | 8GB Team Vulcan RAM | 128GB Kingston V300 SSD (I didn't know what I was doing when I bought it) | MSI H81I Motherboard | Corsair H55 with Noctua NF-P12 | EVGA SSC GTX 960 4GB | OCZ 550W Fully Modular PSU with Noctua NF-A14 | Cooler Master Elite 130 (Soon to be something cool)

ATX mini towers are what you wanna look out for.

Or go for a smaller mainboard like mATX or even mini-ITX.

I have the board already, but other ATX mini towers don't really seem like what I want. I'm looking more for something that would be appropriate for use as an HTPC case, while not getting an HTPC case due to the price.

Have you looked at the corsair carbide series already?

Specifically the 200R, 300R or 400R.

Very sturdy and high quality "smaller" factor atx cases.

I know of them, have known of them for a while. I even own a Carbide case (the Air 540), but all of them are just too large. Like I said, I'm looking for something suitable for HTPC use but without the generally high price-tag that comes with HTPC cases.

I don't think it's gonna go much smaller than something like a 200r.

ATX is just taking up that much space.

Hmm, the GD09B looks like a solid bet. Looks like it has great cooling as well. Thanks :)

You're welcome.  I was looking at these for my HTPC, I am currently using a bog stock midi tower, but when I get my arse in gear It will be transferred to a more stylish case.

Sounds good. Yeah, an Air 540 makes for good cooling but a terribly large footprint, doesn't exactly work under the TV stand.
