My old gateway Techniclor tc-7200 had good ping and download speed, but we replaced it as it would disconnect every 20 minutes. We got a new one now called Ubee EVW3226. With the Ubee we are not getting 40 extra ping on every server we connect and the download speed has decreased from 122mbp/s to an average of 93mbp/s and some server even lower when we usually got 122mbp/s. Is there a fix, or is it just a bad gateway?

Maybe you should try disabling the firewall on the router, basically anything that should have an impact on it's "routing power". If you can't get more than this, than it's most likely the router it self. Funny enough Ubee doesn't meantion anywhere what the router is capable of achieving over cable. And also, what internet speeds are you supposed to get, and was the Technicolor ISP supplied?

My ISP is UPC and im supposed to be getting 120mbp/s but also we asked a UPC specialist and he said we are even supposed to get 135mbp/s. I turned off the firewall and really didn't do anything, thanks for trying to help

I don't know if you can still return the router, in case you can or at some point you decide you want to buy new equip. Get something like this. I always advise against getting an all in one solution specifically because of things like this. Now this is just a modem, but for around the same price you can get a decent router with even Gigabit ports that will allow you to take advantage of your internet speed.
