Gsm connection?

So i am looking at phone providers( a big deal when you suddenly have to pay for your phone contract on your own) and i found that fido would be the most economical for me.

 

I need connection is the circled locations, so how would it be

GSM = 2G

EDGE =  beefed up 2G, I would call it 2.5G.

HSPA = 3G

4G HSPA+ = beefed up 3G, marketed as 4G. I would call it 3,5G

LTE  = real 4G

 

The beefed up ones are just slightly faster than what it's based on. So don't expect much difference between them.

parrents pay for a talk and text only plan, i have a need for data and have to pay for it myself

Well 2G and 2.5G are slow as hell. Here in Belgium so slow it's useless.

3G and 3.5G. Fast enough for almost everything. If you are a bit lucky, you can view youtube videos, stream internet radio, just browse a bit. All fine

4G. Well that's just like the fibreglass of the mobile networks. Fast enough for pretty much everything you coud possibly want.

Well the speeds of the network aren't going to matter as far as the map goes. And as far as coverage goes, well the maps I have seen are fairly accurate.

The speed of the network is going to matter on how much bandwidth your ISP allots you in their pool of bandwidth. LTE current spec stipulates 150mb download by 50 upload, which no one actually gets. That just means your phone and the tower can talk that quickly. Your ISP still probably only has a gigabit (maybe a 10GBps connection if you're lucky) going to each of their towers, so you will have to split that data with all the other customers associated with that tower.
