ok, so i recently got a second gpu for crossfire, and i put it in my system, put the bridge between the cards, and after booting up, i went into amd catalyst, but when selecting the second gpu under the performance section, everything is at zero? (yes i have crossfire enabled and have rebooted) i can't even use my second monitor off of the card? btw they are dual 7770's, one xfx DD and the other is a powercolor. any help would be appreciated, idk why nothing is working ?

you are plugging both monitors into the main gfx card, right? Also, if catalyst is not seeing both gpus correctly, you might need to completely uninstall the driver, reboot, then reinstall the driver.
i had them both on the main card, (power color) but i plugged the second one into the second card (xfx) and nothing.... i had to restart from windows updates, but still nothing, should i swap the cards? and have the xfx as the main one?

It sounds like a driver issue, have you tried this?

put the hardware back like it is supposed to be for crossfire mode. Run AMD's driver uninstall tool, then reboot the pc. Then do a fresh install of the latest driver, I believe it is 13.1 or you can do 13.2 beta.

AMD's uninstall tool: http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/catalyst-uninstall-utility.aspx

Rock On!

Try running the new card by it's self and see if it is DOA???

Just a thought.

fans spin, its just not wanting to do anything in crossfire, or atleast it shows nothing

Hello Sir,

When in CrossfireX you can only use the display outputs of the first card. When it is disabled you can use the outputs of each card.

As for the "everything is at zero" I am unsure what you mean, Graphics OverDrive?

Cheers,

Bender

yes, in the graphics overdrive section, the second listed gpu, everything for clocks, usage, etc is at zero? what is causing that?

What motherboard are you using? It may not work with Crossfire.

The monitor set up while using crossfire you can only use the outputs on the main gpu. While in crossfire output is disabled on the second card.

If possible you could always try both cards in a different rig to see if it's a compatibility issue.

I'd also try swapping the order of the cards, move the current secondary card into the first slot see if that makes a difference.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

um, my motherboard supports crossfire, i made sure of it, also it says on the box, its the ASUS M5A99X in case your wondering, and i don't have another rig to test it in, and ive already swapped the cards, same thing is happening

My 6950s also do that, where the 2nd card shows zero in graphics overdrive, it would show when both cards are underload. If you wanted to view some info about the 2nd card use GPU-Z and for overclocking and adjusting some other things like fan speed use MSI Afterburner.

It sounds as it's not plugged in to me, I'm running the XFX and ASUS 6870's in X-Fire and i'm using the XFX PRO 1250W PSU and i'm running FarCry 3 at max with a few lags from time to time (I do run at stock settings)
its plugged in, look for yourself http://i.imgur.com/pY12WBR.jpg

i have a windows gadget on my desktop that shows for both cards, its just that it takes the first card to be 75%+ load before the second one kicks in, then it balances out, instead of balance from the beginning

also, i can't run higher than medium settings 720p in windowed mode.... and the cards are overclocked, aswell as my fx-6100 @4Ghz

Mhm, i rely on GPU-Z to view the information.

I don't know about anyone else but i wouldn't feel comfortable running an OC CPU and OC Cards with a 600w PSU, that's when i decided to go dual 6870's i went all in and bought a bigger case, aswell as the 1250W PSU, I just rebooted my comp (after it's been running for about a week nonstop) and i noticed that both my cards are active in the GPU overdrive section, it also shows the clockspeeds and fanspeeds for both cards and i'm using the Catalyst software

um, if it was all stock, its about 370W, so OC'ing isn't an issue, i can run dual 7870's with my fx-6100 and no issues

They are 7770s and barely draw any power, a 600W would do.
there only 80W a piece, so yeah, the only thing thats a power hog is the 6100

Usually the secondary card in crossfire just powers off until you start playing games , or doing graphically demanding tasks .

Try to connect all the screens to your main card and tell us what happens .
