steam install location question

Go to solution Solved by Vitalius,

Yes, but only if you tell it to.

Open Steam.

Go to View.
Go to Settings.
Click the "Downloads" tab.
Click the "Steam Library Folders" button.
Click the "Add Library Folder" button.

Then select the Steam Library folder on your other Drive. It should auto-detect all the games in that folder. If it doesn't, just click each game and set it to Install on that same Library Folder and it will auto-detect all of it and instantly be installed.

That should do it. Good luck. :)

Once you re-install Win7 and Steam, go into your Steam settings. Add your secondary drive games folder under Steam Game Folders and Steam will automatically recognize the games.

Cheers guys  :) much appreciated :)

Wow I wish I had known of this before ... I usually just install the game move it then create a symbolic link.... Oh well good to know now lol

And, when you go to install the game, you can create a new library folder there too.

I have Steam installed on my 120gb OS ssd and I install games on a hard drive, so creating an extra steam library folder for the hdd is super convenient.

When did they introduce this feature? I've had my account for 9 years and I wish I knew this lol.
