pci-e power question

Go to solution Solved by JamGorby,

What you're holding in your hand in the 3rd pic is enough to power a single card.

I got a new power supply (my first pc build) and it has one permanent pci-e cable that splits into 2x8pin connectors. I have a 290x which needs 1x8pcie and 1x6pcie cable. Can I just use the one permanent cable? or do I need to use an included modular pcie along with the original one to power the card?

Sorry if this question wasn't clear, I'm not sure how to ask/explain.

Also, how can I include spoiler links so I can reduce the size of the post? (ie. hide the images until a "show" button is clicked)
