Hi i've been trying to help my brother with his msi gtx 660 twin frozr but i cannot seem to find out what the problem is. everytime i run csgo it freezes within like 10 secs and soundloops. when i downclock it with msi afterburner -100 core and -75 memory it lasts longer but eventually crashes. This seems to happen only with csgo, does anyone know what's up?

specs

psupply: xfx core edition 850w

cpu: i7 4790k

motherboard: asus z97-ar

Additional info temps are only about 55-60 while csgo is running cpu is about low 50s

Sometimes i get this too randomly even just from browsing

"Display Driver Nvidia Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 350.12 stopped responding and has successfully recovered"

EDIT: Update

Well apparently the gtx 660 runs fine on my other rig[specs below], and when i swap my r9 290 onto my z97 board it doesnt crash on valley or csgo either

- Asus p8z77-lk

- i5 3570k
- powercolor r9 290 pcs+
- evga suprnovaGS 850w

did that already and i just formatted as well no luck

ok download nvidia inspector open it go to show overclocking select performance level 3 and just under that is the base clock offset . downclock by 21mhz. so -21mhz and click apply. this should fix the nvidia driver stopped responding but i donno about cs problem maybe it would help it too
