It is safe, just make sure the GPU's weight is supported.

my case wont come until next week, so it is safe to use the system (gaming) on the box?

Well, you could.  But it won't be "safe" it will be open to your house so you could accidentally drop food or something on it or a dog might bump it.  If you're careful you should be fine.

It's fine, just watch out for others touching it as they may fry it, or get electrocuted. And clean it before you install it into the case because it will be open to dust.
