I pretty much know the answer to this already but id like some reassurance before i go and spend 500 pounds :P, im gonna buy an i5 4690k with an msi gaming 3 z97 board and im gonna pair that up with a twin frozr msi r9 290 for my gaming needs. I am currently running 1 1080p monitor but i plan on upgrading that to a 1440p panel at some point in the next few months. Will the 290 be able to cope with playing any game i throw at it at highish settings?

CPU-i5 4690k 4.4ghz @ 1.190V, MOBO-MSI z97 gaming 3, Cooler-hyper 212 evo, GPU- r9 290x asus directcuII (-37Mv), Storage-120gb v300(switching soon), 1tb caviar blue, CASE-Red/black h440, PSU-Antec TPC 650.

The 290 should be able to play most games at high settings and some older games at ultra.

If you can, wait for the AMD 3xx series so the 200 series drops which may allow you to get a 290x.

And any modern games at ultra, providing we're talking 1080-1440.

The recent modern titles are starting to become too difficult to run at ultra if you want a stable 60fps

You should be fine then. You would probably be running the 1440p with no AA so that should help.
