Nope, exchange rates bruv.

With exception to the fact that the rate hasn't fluctuated a huge amount in the timeframe that is shown.

What timeframe did you set it at? Because if you pan it out to 1 year, it's quite the obvious trend... Went from 1.71 to <1.50.

And the trend at webshops works in delay. They have a certain stock they bought with the prices back then. It's when they have to restock when the new pricing comes to play. So there is always a phaselag with the trends.

I did have it set to one year. But that doesn't line up if it's just exchange rates, only recently has the price peaked. Not the entire time, especially with the 4690k. The 4790k I could boil it down to exchange, but the other not as much.

If you compare the OP's bottom graph, with the exchange rates, there is a clear correlation. The recent peak in the UK could've been a supply&demand issue, but not the overal trend of hardware becoming more expensive here in Europe.

I said that above... but the correlation doesn't exist with the top graph.

Well the topgraph is rather undefined and jittery. Can't really theorize based on that, and that could've been any number of local issues in the UK.

The overal trend though, is that hardware is becoming increasinly more expensive in Europe, due to the exchange rates.

EDIT;

Those graphs are the prices specific to Amazon UK lol, I've been watching them the last month as I've been having issues with my i7 and saw the price keep rising as each issue I had cropped up. They seem to adjust prices according to Ebuyer quite often, coincidence I know not.

If you check in on the Intel communities you'll see that there have been a fair amount of heat problems with the Devil's Canyon chips since just before Christmas. I've had to send two back already, but I've seen various accounts show 3-4 RMAs in that period.

Tldr seems to be demand exceeding supply - part of it has to be due to these iHS and thermal paste problems.
