Not an option for next year. Plus this isn't really that big of an issue. Its just really dumb. I will probably be off campus junior and senior year as long as I am not an RA. Off campus housing is often cheaper anyway.

i guess your right, here is probably the exception,dorms were more expensive (1 year rent) we have cheap housing. I also lived with 6 of my best friends so that made it dirt cheap.

I signed a 2 year contract for the dorms. The only other things keeping me here are that I could be an RA and get my housing and food paid for plus get paid on top of it. I already have a scholarship that covers my tuition. So I would only have to pay for books and travel expenses. And the dorm that I am in now is really close to the dining hall and really close to all of my classes.

that sounds like a sweet deal besides the 2 year contract. What happens if you transfer or drop out.

Depends on the time of year. There could be a cancellation fee involved but it is easy to get waived in those circumstances. If I just wanted to move to a house or something I would have to pay for it.
