Hello,

I am planning to build my own gaming rig. I want it to be able to play the most up to date games, like Gta v and Farcry 4. At a high FPS whilst running them on the best graphics possible.

I have put together all the parts I need to use and wish to use, but I am not to sure if they are compatible. So it would be much appreciated if someone could check for me if they are compatible and for how cheap I can get them. Also it would be nice if you could assist me if there is a component what would be better for gaming and roughly around the same price as the component I have chosen ( what ever that is) .

These are my specs I am checking if they are compatible.

Specs:

Motherboard: MAXIMUS VII HERO    Cost:

Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 760T

Processor: Intel i5 4590 Quad Core CPU.

SSD: 2x Samsung SAM 850 Pro 256GB 2.5 inch SATA III Solid State Drive

Graphics Card: MSI GTX 960 GAMING 4GB

RAM: HyperX Savage 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) 2400 MHz DDR3 CL11 DIMM XMP Memory Module

Power Supply: Coolermaster V1000 PSU    Cost:£125

Optical Drives: OcUK 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM

Storage:WD - 2TB Desktop SATA Hard Drive - OEM - Green

Thanks

2 things:

1. go with the I5 4690k, it is currently the best I5 out there and isnt much more money

2. put a cooler on it, and make sure that cooler fits with your case and RAM

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Solitaire.

I would go for the R9 280x as it has much better performance in games and get a over clockable (K) processor.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

I agree, and also I think that the 200$ motherboard doesn't make a lot of sense. You can get away just fine with a 80-100$ board not losing any performance and saving a lot of money. If you are into red motherboards, the Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI or the Asrock Fatality Z97 series looks solid. This way, you will be able to afford a K-series I5, or even an I7. The 1000W PSU seems to be overkill for a build that uses only 200-300W. I recommend good CPU cooler as well, and a faster GPU. If you are interested, I could post what I would build in this price range.
