Discovery and Science channels

Go to solution Solved by blackadder,

lol, ik. not really offended. and now the construction crews have finished lifting the train up, and have put it back on the rails! hopefully the derailing doesn't happen again. Anybody know of an answer to my original question?

ok besides your Local provider you can stream, netflix has most the decent stuf from discovery and history channels. Very few channels can you get a la carte. Check the websites of instrested channels. I know on roku you can dl nasa pbs and a few other public channels.

I want to get rid of my connection to big cable companies, and switch over to HTPC. What other services that I could put on my HTPC have discovery and science channels?

Just a guy who peaked at building back in the days of the GTX 980. If you see me here, assume i have technical knowledge akin to a committed hobbyist builder back then. If something's changed, you'll need to tell me(nicely plz). I'm probably asking for help with the modern build scene since I have no clue what's going on.

Like who?

i thinking of most astronomy shows really. Its all 8th grade level. It gets people into it but also misleads them. I don't like all the dramatic walking off screen and crap like that. Its more of a personal thing. I feel like there are some youtubers that give a more honest approach. I love sci show and their sister channels, that is the standard tv should have or higher. Or did you mean nerdy youtubers?

That's offensive. I'm in 8th grade, and I am above those shows. :'(

;)

Like YouTube channels? Most science shows are almost a slap in the face to science. Nasa and pbs. Vice new if you can find it.

My dad likes them. I'm still subscribed to plenty of nerdy science youtubers. My dad just needs these if he is going to switch.

I didn't mean any one. I was wondering who you meant. :)

SciShow is indeed a good one. I was a Subbable subscriber for a couple years, and now I'm a "patron" after the move to the new payment system. I've got their signed poster on my cubicle wall at work. :)  I have a couple other good channels in my sub list, too.

Im sorry, i didn't mean it like that, i just wish they would make more advanced shows too. I know they don't want to put math in it because it scares people away. There is a lot of background information before you can talk about black holes astro/physics bs and they are very scarce on the proofs or the caveats of the covered topics. If i said i was the whole universe i would be more right than a constant that is commonly used in physics.

Edit: i link in a sec.

I like

applied physics.

Eev blog

All the sci shows/everything they do.

Njwildburger.

Vsauce and their channels.

Numberphile is a favorite, learn to do 5th roots in your head.

Im sure theres more.

Also i hope youre using plex, its awesome.
