I know I probably need more power, but how many Watts will I need. Also, are these parts compatible? post-225369-0-39082300-1430270586_thumb.

I'm not sure, but if that Core i3 is dual core, it will probably bottleneck the 270X.

nope the Haswell i3 is a good CPU and it got HT

 

it can support a 280X

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
