I was just wondering if setting your cpu down on the connector side down n a table was bad. I see Linus and other reviews doing it and I ma wondering if it would be better to have the metal side touching the desk. Thanks

i dont think either is necessarily /bad/, but youre better off leaving it in a motherboard or factory packaging

for AMD, you should probably put the CPU with the pins up, as those'll bend easily. Doesn't really mater for Intel tho.

You can put it down. But dragging it on table or any other surface is not good idea. Or leaving it on conducting surface or place with high probability of ESD.

Intel -> don't scratch the conductors

 

tbh just set it heatspreader down that just a metal piece
