Love Final Fantasy 7 I already own a copy of it but it is a bear to run on win 7. I read that the steam version is a newer version. I know you can reg retail copys you own on steam is it possible with FF7. Hope somebody knows I think it is very unlikely due to the lack of drm on my old ass retail copy.

Im playing on steam and its fine. all you use is

 

x=select

c=cancel

v=menu

 

and arrow keys to move 

 

I love it and it runs fine on win7

Don't buy the 2012 version of Final Fantasy VII. If you own it on another platform, just download the ISOs off of the net and emulate it. Alternatively, buy the version from 1998 (or download it if they no longer sell it anywhere) and use PCGamingWiki to help get it running on your system.

 

The Steam version of FF7 requires that you log into a Square account to play, disallows modding and has disgusting versions of the music because it was designed specifically to run on an audio card from ages long past. It is basically the same game they released in 1998, but with worse restrictions and stripped of the benefits that version had.

 

Please don't continue to support Square's poor business practices. When they do something right, reward them. But they continue to screw over their loyal customers with junk like this.

No I own the original FF7 pc version.
