Broadwell i7

I bought a Z97 motherboard and was planning to buy a i5 4690k until I saw that broadwell would be compatible with the z97. 

 

My question would be when are i7 Broadwell processors supposed to be released ? I can't seem to find any ETA but I am guessing it would be somewhere around this end of the year ?

Do you think it's still worth it to buy an i5 4690K if a better processor is coming in 3 months ? Especially when that processor is literally increasing in price every week. (which doesn't even make sense to me.)

Broad well is going to be more efficient, not necessarily more powerful. You'll be better off grabbing the i5-4690k now for gaming.

broadwell is going to be more power efficient, and the igpu will be slightly improved if im right.

Since you probably are never gonne use the igpu, i personaly dont see any vallid reason to wait for broadwell.

 

i would just grab the best cpu for Z97 right now, which is the 4790K.

The 4790k is absolutely amazing. It a powerful beast, and well suited for overclocking.

You're right, I guess the 4790K will remain the best 1150 CPU even when new broadwell CPUs will be released
