Parent's PC Random Shutdowns

My Parent's PC has been randomly shutting down for a couple of months now. 

 

The screen will go black, then come back on. Then have a spak attack of on and off screen and then the system shuts down and reboots itself.

 

SPECS: (I think)

CPU: Intel Core Duo

Motherboard; Not sure. I know it's Gigabyte thoguh.

RAM: 2x2GB RAM Not sure what brand though.

GPU: Onboard Graphics

HDD: Seagate 500GB

Cooling: Stock cooler

PSU: No Idea. May be the issue.

 

I opened it up and cleaned the whole thing. CPU cooler had been clogged FULL of dust. Same with PSU fan. Did not fix issue though.

Have you checked temps? Could be overheating.

Okay. Do they leave the computer on during the night or they turn it off? for the temp software, you could use, hwmonitor. 

 

If they do, then It might be a PSU.

The PSU is slowing dying. I've had a lot of people with similar stories.

I don't think it will. If you have a spare PSU laying around, you can swap it and see. 

 

I don't think the other parts will get affected that much.
